The lot was donated by the city of Garner and its the first Habitat home to be built in Hancock County. It is being built with assistance from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. "We are actually going to be able to start roots and this is a place that our boys can grow ip in and they can have some place that they can call home for the rest of their lives," Jenny said. Shaun said he wanted to come back to Garner, where he grew up. "The city si looking to have a hometown boy come back home", said Mayor Mick.

NIACC- Martin Luther King work day!
January 21, 2013
Students from NIACC came out today to volunteer for Martin Luther King Day. Instead of a “Day Off” they made it a “Day On!” Thanks to their help, we made some great improvements to our door section of the ReStore. This crew worked hard and removed door knobs, hinges and other door hardware from the interior door section, measured and reorganized our bi-fold & closet door section to include an added shelf for more space efficiency. We are very thankful for all the great work & help the NIACC students provided today. Thanks also to our board member Karen Dole for organizing this volunteer day!
